That being said, the other major feature that I was looking forward to was better Creative Cloud integration. It’s a small thing, but it certainly is one of Lightroom 5’s weak links so far. I’ve tried to use Lightroom 5 without CC used for a couple of months, and I’m glad to say that it still worked. It’s almost like a very bare-bones version of Lightroom 5.1. With CC integration, I can’t recall as many instances where my image completes or completes with missing effects.
Readers will also be pleased to know that Lightroom 5 can now handle a massive number of images, up to 2.5 photographs per second, of up to 8.0 megapixels. Adobe has increased the max file size that Lightroom 5 will handle by three times, which means you’ll be able to move around a massive number of images. I’m not sure that there is an ideal file size for the application, but with Lightroom 5, I definitely noticed a huge increase in upload speeds as well.
I’ve been working on a site which featured a retro feel and I was looking for an alternative to Photoshop’s “old” style icons to represent these sorts of styles. Every person on our team are very familiar with Adobe Photoshop so they just learned the new styles without any trouble. No need to learn something new just for the sake of it even though the new style icons are very easy to use. The only downside of the new icons is that they tend to be smaller. On the positive side, this release attempts to give the user the option to choose the size of the icon and it takes into account the size of the icon when it is being downloaded and displayed, thus making the icons larger where they are typically smaller. This is a welcome update.
