There aren't many haunted tours that you can jump into while on Oahu. Uncle Joe's ghost tour left a little to be desired in the "paranormal" category, but we ranked a 10 out of 10 for the entertainment value. Watching Kahuna guy "Uncle Joe" trying to call out the spirits was a hoot. No...no spirits, ghosts, or anything else. Reflections, RF propagation, EMF activity, and bugs all made an appearance...regardless, we enjoyed ourselves. One word of caution is to "go before you go." There are no restrooms on this bus journey around darkened areas of the island. A bus will pick you up at your hotel and take you back to where it picked you up. If, while on tour, you have to use the restroom, the driver will drive you to a public one, but then you will likely miss the rest of the tour as the driver will have no idea where Uncle Joe went. Videoing this tour was encouraged, and we took advantage of it. Unfortunately, that is not always the case on these tours.
The rule of thumb is that if tour operators won't let you record, it is only a history lesson that they don't want folks to listen to at home and decide they don't now need to go on the tour. On the other hand, if the tour operators encourage recording, they hope you will capture something you can share with them to post on their website or YouTube channel.
