Another interesting feature that Adobe is pursuing in the near future is AI (artificial intelligence) or machine learning. With this tool, the program is taught to be able to perform more complex editing tasks and gradually you will get more control over the edit. This could be a great advantage for the editing process, but it will be a challenge for Adobe to make a machine learn from thousands of different images, all at once. Maybe it is time to concentrate more on image management, especially with the Creative Cloud model.
If you need something that is similar to the stock iPhone X Photos app for editing, you might want to check out the iOS 10 beta version that Apple includes in its public beta tests. It is not approved by Apple and is pre-configured to be a camera backup app. You can also use the CameraConnect app for this purpose. It is a free app from Creative Labs , too and works fine on the iPhone X and later. The user interface is very similar to the stock iPhone X Photos app and has become a part of iOS 10.
You can save yourself some time by conducting Previews of your image in Photoshop and Lightroom before uploading it to your final destination. This way you can manage your image on your computer and check out all of your color and brightness settings. Then once you are ready to open the image, you can use the Show Filters functionality in PS and LR to make adjustments that show you all of your editing tools.
You can use this tool to create your own plug-ins to add features like a “Polish” tool or a Invert tool. This also allows you to save your own tools under a different name that can be used on any project. Better yet, to carry your tools over to Lightroom, you can create a Plug-In Template. You can then use the tools that you would use in Photoshop (like erasing white balance) in Lightroom, and vice versa.
This is a must have option as you will need these tools once you are working on color. If you are working with photo unretouched or Raw files, you will be working in a grayscale space. Adjusting color on an image in a pure black and white image can be tricky, but with these tools it’s a breeze.
The Paste function is very useful when you are working on a major retouch of an image. With this tool, you can paste in any photo into any place you want it to appear automatically in your image. You can also paste in Adjustments, or you can paste in Adjustments layer. Many times, you will need a large adjustment like a Lightroom plug-in and need to paste it into the area where you want it to go.
